Practicing the Art of eLearning Design and Development
What Do We Do?
We Design Online Courses
Our approach to online course design takes into account the perspectives and needs of the student, the instructor, and the institution. We use a “backwards” course design process, beginning with the course and/or program objectives before moving on to design the assessments, activities and content. Our designers have been students in online courses, instructors of online courses, and higher education administrators.
Work with Subject Matter Experts
We have experience both as subject matter experts and in working with subject matter experts. We work hard to develop relationships with content experts and work with them to determine measurable objectives, relevant assessments, appropriate content, and the amount of content. We also help them leave their lengthy PowerPoints behind and to move on to more student-centered learning techniques.
Integrate Technology
Technology can add to the teaching and learning experience. It can also detract from the teaching and learning experience. We give a lot of thought to how we integrate technology into our online and classroom experiences. We want technology to be useful and to enhance and drive understanding of the content. We don’t use it just because its trendy or cool. We want it to be relevant to students’ personal and professional lives. And we work really hard to add built-in support for the technology that we do use.
